Creators that publish content with mature themes on Zestworld will need to manually set the "Mature Content" flag for each Comic Series they publish.
This setting can be configured from the Creator Dashboard when creating a new Series or from the "Edit Series Details" page for existing Series.
Mature Content Alert
New site visitors & fans accessing a Series marked as containing Mature Content will be alerted via an overlay message before they can continue forward and read the comic.
Once a user clicks "I understand" their content preferences will be saved and they won't see the Mature Content Alert again unless their log-in status changes, they are inactive for 30 days, or they access the site using a new browser or device.
How do I know if I should mark my Series as having Mature Content?
Creators should mark their Series as containing Mature Content if any of the following mature themes and imagery are frequently depicted across multiple Issues:
- Extreme violence
- Sexual themes or nudity
- Excessive profanity
- Substance use/abuse (drugs, alcohol, etc.)
If your Series only contains brief instances of mature content and it's not an ongoing occurrence or main theme, we recommend including a simple "content warning" through text/images that can be placed at the beginning of any Issues with mature content.
Can I include mature content in my Issue Covers or Email Teaser Images?
Creators should not feature mature imagery in either the Issue Cover or Email Teaser images, as these images display to users before any warnings are displayed and in off-site locations.
